Reading for pleasure makes you a better writer

Many successful writers are also avid readers - But is there a correlation between these two hobbies? Turns out, yes!

A 2019 study found that reading for pleasure improves writing by offering a creative outlet, inspiring new ideas, and improving grammar and vocabulary.

Aside from writing abilities, reading also improves academic performance, comprehension, and overall happiness. Some even argue reading is a human right.

What Should You Read?

Whatever you want!

This 2016 study found that all pleasure reading (self-selected materials) had benefits across disciplines, regardless of what people chose to read.

So, there you have it - Reading for pleasure will likely help you become a better writer!
